APG Asset Management names new quant fixed income trader

Move sees the firm promote from within as it bolsters its fixed income trading capabilities. 

Christos Saltapidas has been appointed quantitative fixed income trader at APG Asset Management after 6 years with the firm.

APG Asset Management confirmed the appointment to The TRADE. Saltapidas will be based in Amsterdam in his new role, where he will focus on trading government bonds and interest rate derivatives. 

He initially joined APG in 2020 as a junior asset management professional, with rotations across its quant, research and portfolio management departments.

The appointment follows four years as a systematic commodities portfolio manager and quant researcher at the firm, where he was responsible for managing APG’s internal systematic strategies portfolios. 

Previously, Saltapidas also worked at NN Investment Partners. 

APG Asset Management was shortlisted for Multi-Asset Trading Desk of the Year in 2024, and this year it is in the running for Foreign Exchange Trading Desk of the Year.
