Industry veteran Barnaby Nelson has joined Standard Chartered Bank, as regional head of investors and intermediaries for Northeast Asia and Greater China.
“I’m basically covering all of the transaction banking products that we could sell to institutional investors and intermediaries,” said Nelson. “So, cash management, as well as all of the more traditional securities services products – clearing and outsourcing for brokers, custody and fund administration.”
He will be based in Hong Kong and will report to Margaret Harwood-Jones, global segment sponsor, investors and intermediaries, transaction banking and to Helen Hui, head of transaction banking, Hong Kong.
Nelson joined Standard Chartered last week, after a period of gardening leave, having left BNP Paribas Securities Services in Hong Kong at the beginning of 2014. At that firm, he was head of client development, Asia-banks, broker dealers and corporate issuers.
