Carl James has resigned as head of the UK buy-side dealing outsourcing business on BNP Paribas Securities Services (BNPP SS).
James’ role as managing director, Dealing Services UK, will be taken by Hubert Rotivel, who will “head up dealing desks across all asset classes”, a spokesman has confirmed. Rotivel will report to Philippe Boulenguiez, global head of dealing services at BNPP SS.
James has headed BNPP SS’s UK outsourced dealing business since its launch in April 2013, and was previously head of fixed income and FX trading, BNP Paribas Investment Partners. He joined the French group following its acquisition of Benelux bancassurance group Fortis, where James was global head of dealing at Fortis Investment Management. Before Fortis, James was global head of trading at Henderson and had spent a number of years on the sell-side including at UBS.
James is believed to be considering a range of options for his next career move.
