US-based asset manager C.S. McKee has gone live on software provider Charles River's Investment Management System (IMS), allowing it to electronically access domestic liquidity through the firm's FIX-based network.

Real-time electronic FIX trading through the Charles River Network will connect C.S. McKee to its preferred sell-side brokers via Charles River's internet-based virtual private network. The full integration of Charles River IMS and the Charles River Network is intended to allow C.S. McKee a single point of contact for both its investment management and electronic trading FIX-related requirements.

The first phase of the IMS implementation included centralising all portfolio-level compliance monitoring, while the second phase consolidated portfolio management and trading capabilities across C.S. McKee's equities and fixed income trading businesses.

According to Charles River, the open architecture design of its IMS will also allow C.S. McKee to easily integrate the data from its internal warehouse.

“For many years, we operated on separate equity and fixed income platforms,” said Ulf Skreppen, senior vice president, chief compliance officer and operations manager at C.S. McKee. “Charles River IMS allowed us to consolidate our products onto a single platform. It will also help us meet the growing demands of our clients by increasing investment management capabilities, streamlining processes, and reducing operational risk across the board.”
