Charles River slims Japanese client’s IT structure

Daiwa SB Investment, a large Japanese active manager, is to use the Charles River Investment Management Solution  (IMS) Version 9 for portfolio management, trading and pre-trade compliance for both international and domestic investment management operations.

Daiwa SBI, which has 4.93 trillion yen under management, said that buying the upgraded product has allowed the firm to junk a number of legacy in-house systems and simplify its underlying IT architecture.

Charles River Development is a front- and middle-office investment management software solutions provider for hundreds of buy-side firms worldwide.

The firm’s IMS is a multi-asset class, multi-currency software that automates portfolio management during the life of the trade, for example, end-of-day compliance; order management, electronic trading, and execution management as well as post-trade matching and settlement.

“Version 9 completes Charles River’s transition to a service-oriented architecture that standardizes existing workflows for Japanese firms, like DSBI, providing greater efficiency and improved performance throughout the trade lifecycle,” said Cameron Field, managing director, APAC, Charles River Development.
