The Dubai International Financial Exchange (DIFX) is to lengthen its trading day and open on Sundays, to bring its trading hours in line with other regional exchanges.

From 17 November, weekday trading will start one hour and 45 minutes earlier at 10.00 UAE time (06.00 GMT). The closing time remains unchanged at 17.00. The first Sunday trading day will be on 23 November, from 10.00 to 14.00. The new trading hours will extend DIFX’s overlap with the opening times of exchanges in Asia.

“This is an important part of our commitment to facilitate access for regional investors to the opportunities on our market,” explained Jeff Singer, chief executive of DIFX. “The extended hours also increase the periods when international investors can access the exchange, which will support market activity on DIFX.”
