Software provider First Derivatives has opened an office in Singapore that complements its existing Asian representation in Sydney, Australia.

Martin Haines will run the new Singapore office and said that plans for the office are to consolidate the firm’s offering of products and services in liquidity and data management within Asia as demand from their clients expands.

That includes helping clients fulfill regulatory obligations for on-exchange and OTC trading, as well as addressing the big data challenges facing capital markets participants.

In Singapore, the firm has broker and regulatory clients, and the new office will support those customers as well as strive to win new business around Asia.

Haines joined First Derivatives this year from Reuters where he held both Asian and global head of sales roles. He said that he would be looking to build on the relationships First Derivatives already has in the region, while building out the local Singapore team.
