GreshamQuant, a London-based research-driven investment team that manages the Alternative Commodity Absolute Return (ACAR) and Systematic Alternative Fixed Income (SAFI) strategies for New York-based commodity investment specialist Gresham Investment Management, has made two key hires as part of its further expansion into systematic investment.
Jonty Field, formerly the global head of performance, global head of product and head of EMEA at interest rate futures specialist Quantitative Brokers (QB), has joined the firm as COO, based in London.
In his eight-year tenure atQB, Field led both client and product expansion efforts for the EMEA region as well as providing local market insight and support. He was formerly the head of trading analytics for systematic investment manager Man AHL.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as COO of GreshamQuant – looking forward to working with Scott Kerson, Thomas Babbedge & team,” Field confirmed in a LinkedIn post.
New York-headquartered Gresham Investment Management, founded in 2005, is a pioneer in the management of diversified commodity investment portfolios using exchange-traded futures and forwards, and now manages over $7.2 billion. GreshamQuant, headed up by London-based senior managing director Scott Kerson, acts as its systematic strategies team.
In a further addition, Dr Yoav Git joins GreshamQuant in the role of fixed income model owner.
Git also has a background at Man Group, spending several years as senior research fellow for Man Investments in London before joining AHL Partners as head of fixed income and subsequently head of innovation. He previously held positions as head of fixed income research with Winton Capital Management, and as head of research and development for Brevan Howard in Israel.
“GQ is now positioned more strongly than ever to build on our previous success and to continue to further our clients’ goals,” said Scott Kerson.
“We are very excited about these two exceptional hires to bolster our efforts in the systematic space via GreshamQuant,” added Michael Hammond, global head of business development at Gresham Investment Management.
