HSBC Securities Services has appointed Dan Massey as head of its client management group, Asia Pacific.

Based in Hong Kong, Massey will be responsible for all client management and business development activity for HSBC Securities Services across the Asia Pacific region.

Massey most recently held the role of global head of business development and regional head of Southeast Asia for HSBC's sub-custody and clearing business. He has 23 years' experience in the financial services industry and has been with HSBC since 1994, during which time he has held senior management roles in South Korea, Hong Kong, Jersey and the United Kingdom.

“Dan's knowledge of the Asia Pacific region and securities industry experience positions him well to lead the client management group in the region,” said Mike Martin, global head, client management group, HSBC Securities Services.

The appointment of Massey follows the appointment of three new members to the firm's Asia Pacific client management group, as well as a new head of product development for its global sub-custody and clearing business, in August 2011.

HSBC provides fund administration, custody and related securities services across Asia Pacific, the Middle East, Europe and the Americas. HSBC Securities Services' global assets under custody were US$5.8 trillion and global assets under administration US$2.6 trillion as at 30 June 2011.
