HSBC former head of cash equity trading EMEA joins Toscafund AM

New hire joins after nearly three years at HSBC where he most recently served as head of cash equity trading EMEA.  

Steve Jobber has joined Toscafund Asset Management as a portfolio manager, following his exit from HSBC.

Jobber most recently served as head of cash equity trading EMEA at HSBC, a role he held for just over a year, having previously served as the firm’s global head of strategic liquidity and event-driven trading. 

Jobber has more than 25 years of experience in the industry and has previously held senior positions across both the buy-and sell-side. 

He previously spent almost six years at Davidson Kempner Capital Management as head of Europe and Asia trading, overseeing the firm’s regional desks. 

Prior to this, Jobber served as head of equity trading at CQS, and head of European sales and trading for Cantor Fitzgerald.  

Earlier in his career, Jobber was also co-head of emerging EMEA delta one and derivatives at Credit Suisse. 

Toscafund had not responded to a request for comment at the time of publication. 

James Grafton, former global head of cash equities trading HSBC also has a new role. After his seven-year tenure at HSBC, Grafton has founded, and is chief investment officer at, Brenton Capital Limited. 

Earlier this month, another HSBC employee, Daniel Skora, also left the firm, joining Invesco as head of ETF capital markets, APAC, based in Hong Kong, having spent five years at HSBC in the same role.
