Independent research firm Euler Securities has selected agency broker Instinet Europe as its exclusive provider of trading and execution services.

Euler specialises in customised research on large-cap companies globally across a variety of sectors and asset classes.

Instinet will offer Euler’s clients its full range of electronic trading services, including smart order routing to lit and dark trading venues globally, algorithms, direct market access, dark liquidity, transaction cost analysis and execution management systems. In addition, traders will have access to Instinet’s sales and portfolio trading teams.

Euler’s buy-side clients will be able to make direct payments to the research provider via Instinet’s commission management platform, Plazma. To enable traders to manage their commission sharing arrangement programmes, Plazma incorporates analytics tools that enable clients to manage their credits and balances, authorise payments and received statements and customised reports.

“For too long, fund managers have been sold mediocre, generic research and, worse still, have not known what they have paid for it,” said Tim Young, managing partner of Euler Securities. “Our model is designed to provide bespoke research, written by experts and funded by clients in a way which helps them truly understand what they are paying for. In an age of greater scrutiny and transparency, we are confident this is a model which will appeal to the fund managers and their end clients.”

“We are great believers in the value of independent research providers to the market, which is why Instinet’s clients in Europe can use Plazma to access more than 100 independent research firms, confident in the knowledge that they understand what they are purchasing and how much they are paying for it,” added Instinet Europe CEO Richard Balarkas.
