Steve Wood, Schroder Investment Management’s departing global head of trading, has been appointed to the board of directors at agency broker and technology provider ITG.

In January, Schroder announced that Wood would hand over the role he has held since 2002 to the firm’s head of trading for the Americas, Rob McGrath, on 10 March. Previously, Wood spent 28 years at J.P. Morgan, culminating in his role as head of European and Asian trading for the firm’s asset management business. Wood currently chairs the trading committee of UK buy-side trade body the Investment Management Association and serves on several advisory committees across the industry.

“As an experienced head trader and a key client of the firm for many years, Steve is uniquely positioned to offer insight and expertise to ITG’s Board,” said Bob Gasser, ITG’s CEO and president.
