JP Morgan AM builds out European ETF distribution with new appointments from Invesco, Amundi

New hires for ETF distribution for Germany, Austria and Italy alongside further appointments in London, Spain and the Nordics.

JP Morgan Asset Management has hired two new heads of ETF distribution as part of its drive to expand its international ETF business platform throughout Europe.

Philip Annecke and Roberta Gastaldello have been appointed as heads of ETF distribution for Germany/Austria and Italy respectively.

Annecke joins the firm from Invesco PowerShares and will be responsible for building out the firm’s ETF business in the German and Austrian markets, working primarily with institutional clients. Annecke joined PowerShares (then Source ETF) in January 2011 prior to an analyst role with Credit Suisse.

Gastaldello joins from Amundi where she spent two years as a relationship manager at the firm’s ETF, indexing and smart beta business unit. Prior to Amundi, she spent seven years as a fund selector at Euromobiliare Asset Management and four years as a portfolio manager for a fund of hedge funds at Euromobiliare Alternative Investments, both divisions of the Credem Group.

JP Morgan Asset Management has also made appointments in London, with Andrew Moore joining as an ETF Capital Markets Specialist and Antonia Millard as a sales executive, while Tobias Nilsson has been hired as an ETF Specialist in Stockholm, charged with delivering the firm’s ETF capabilities to the Nordic markets. Finally, Lorena Martinez-Olivares has been appointed as a sales executive in Madrid to support JP Morgan Asset Management’s ETF distribution in Spain.

“We’re very excited to have Philip, Roberta, Tobias, Andrew, Antonia and Lorena on board with us. The collective wealth of industry and ETF experience brought by these new hires significantly enhances our ability to serve clients in key markets,” said Bryon Lake, head of international ETFs at JP Morgan Asset Management.

“As we rapidly expand our ETF product offerings across Europe, having local ETF distribution expertise is a key part of our strategy.”
