JPX and Nasdaq strike agreement on technology

The Japan Exchange Group and Nasdaq will work together on a new trading system for the Osaka Exchange.

The Japan Exchange Group (JPX) and Nasdaq will work together on a new trading system for the Osaka Exchange.

The trading system will operate on Genium INET technology. Osaka will also use the SMARTS Market Surveillance for its real-time market surveillance efforts, and TradeGuard for pre-trade risk management functionality, both of which are Nasdaq technologies.

Nasdaq has been providing services to the Osaka Exchange since 2011. Lars Ottersgård, the executive vice president of market technology at Nasdaq said that the new collaboration would focus on supporting the global impact of JPX’s business expansion, improving flexibility and performance capabilities.
