Knight Capital, the US-based broker and market maker, has hired Ana Concejero as head of listed derivatives sales in Europe, the Middle East and Africa.

Concejero will be based in London and will focus on client development and opening new markets for the distribution of advisory and liquidity services in the region.

She will report to Reginald Browne, global co-head of the listed derivatives group, and Albert Maasland, head of international at Knight.

Concejero joins Knight having spent over eight years in BlackRock’s exchange-traded fund division, where she was director and head of LATAM and Iberia capital markets, leading sell-side relationships in Latin America as well as the asset manager's New York-based delta one, ETF and Latin American desks.

“Ana is a skilled and seasoned member of the global ETF community, and she brings a wealth of experience to our team,” said Browne.

In May 2012, Knight Capital, acquired the futures brokerage of financial services group Penson Worldwide. Knight CEO Tom Joyce said at the time that the purchase would be used to offer a new suite of futures trading products that would fill a “strategic gap” in the services offered to clients.
