LCH appoints new client services head

Anglo-French central counterparty LCH.Clearnet has appointed Martin Ryan as group head of operations and client services.

The former head of markets operations at RBS has more than 15 years of experience in the finance industry, including the role of managing director at Morgan Stanley where he ran global equity derivatives and fixed income operations.

“The variety and range of experience Martin has from his previous roles have given him a broad skill set that will enable him to successfully fulfil the LCH.Clearnet role and add significant value to our company,” said LCH.Clearnet COO Christophe Hemon.

Ryan began his finance career with JP Morgan in credit markets in London, with stints in New York and Tokyo.

LCH.Clearnet clears approximately 50% of the US$348 trillion global interest rate swap market and is the second largest clearer of bonds and repos in the world, providing services across 13 government markets.
