The TRADE is thrilled to officially open nominations for our Leaders in Trading New York 2025 Buy-side Awards.
Our North American iteration of our Leaders in Trading awards gala is back for its second year after a stellar inaugural celebration last November.
The awards will once again recognise the outstanding achievements of individual traders and desks over the past 12 months across six categories: Trader of the Year (long-only and hedge fund), Trading Desk of the Year, Fixed Income Trading Desk of the Year, Buy-side Market Structure Expert of the Year and Buy-side Rising Star.
Voting is now open, and industry participants are invited to nominate their winners – whether that be yourself or your peers – with the vote closing on 10 October 2025.
The winners across each of the six categories will be decided upon by an editorial panel and will be announced at The TRADE’s Leaders in Trading New York 2025 gala awards night, held at Chelsea Piers on 18 November.

Last year’s winners included Chris Fiorito of River Road Asset Management and David Alfred of Conversant Capital, Trader of the Year – Long Only, and Trader of the Year – Hedge Fund respectively.

Elsewhere within the buy-side category, Balyasny Asset Management took home the award for Trading Desk of the Year, while T. Rowe Price was awarded Fixed Income Trading Desk of the Year.
Glenmede Investment Management’s Melissa Hinmon was also recognised as a winner, picking up the Buy-Side Market Structure Expert of the Year award.
