Liquidnet has appointed Dirk Griesmeyer as a sales director covering German institutions, as the firm continues its push into continental Europe.
Griesmeyer’s responsibilities will include driving Liquidnet’s membership across Europe and in German-speaking countries.
He joins Liquidnet from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he was a managing director of the German equity sales team for 10 years.
Head of EMEA at Liquidnet, Mark Pumfrey, said the firm expects further growth in its buy-side to buy-side block business, algorithms and fixed income offerings.
Liquidnet recently announced the launch of targeted invitations on behalf of members seeking block liquidity in Asia and the US, following a successful initial launch in Europe late last year.
Pumfrey added: “Dirk brings a wealth of experience to Liquidnet and his extensive industry knowledge and strong relationships in the institutional equity space will be instrumental in continuing our growth in these regions.”
Griesmeyer will work alongside the Liquidnet’s trade coverage, sales, fixed income and execution and quantitative sales teams, reporting to head of sales, Tony Booth.
