Liquidnet’s co-head of EMEA trading departs

Departing individual originally joined Liquidnet as an equity trader in 2015.

Liquidnet’s co-head of trading for EMEA, James Kirk, has departed for pastures new, The TRADE can reveal.

He departs after spending the last two years as Liquidnet’s co-head of EMEA trading, according to an update on social media. His next role is unconfirmed.

Kirk first joined Liquidnet as an equity trader in February 2015 after also previously serving in a similar role at BTIG.

He also previously held senior positions at ConvergEx Group as vice president, and RBS as European head of agency portfolio trading.

Speaking in a post on social media, Kirk said that he is hugely motivated to move onto the next challenge: “I am immensely proud of what the team achieved over the past eight years. I wish the firm and the people there all the best going forward.”

“Arguably most importantly, thank you to the clients. When I joined, we were doing only a handful of trades a day on the execution desk. You saw what we were trying to build and showed great trust in our ability to deliver that vision. Thank you,” he added.
