The London Stock Exchange has started beta testing its new ELITE Connect platform with major European companies today ahead of a full launch later this year.

The LSE’s ELITE Connect platform is a social network for institutional investors, companies and intermediaries and aims to promote investment in listed businesses.

Features of the platform include a company and investor search function, the facility to conduct company searches by size, location and industry sector, a digital meeting room and embedded meeting scheduler.

Luca Peyrano, managing director of ELITE at London Stock Exchange group, said in a statement: “The pace of change in global capital markets and the technology and regulation that underpins it, has been transformative in recent years.

“ELITE Connect will fully harness today’s technology within the investor relations industry and connect people across the globe.

“We know that approximately 90% of listed companies travel the world to meet asset management firms and spend up to one month a year meeting face-to-face. ELITE Connect will help make investor relations more efficient, more international, and more valuable for all parties.”

The group said that the testing phase would allow participants to explore and give feedback on the platform’s functionalities ahead of the full launch.
