Marex goes live with institutional QIS offering

The solution is designed for multiple asset classes including digital assets and equities and allows investors to gain market themes and asset class exposure without having to trade underlying instruments directly.

Marex has launched an institutional quantitative investment strategies (QIS) offering, to provide systematic access to digital assets and equities for institutional investors.

The new capabilities mark the launch of the firm’s first proprietary, off-the-shelf institutional solution, and allow investors to gain exposure to specific market themes, asset classes and risk premia without having to trade the underlying instruments directly.

“For years now, QIS indices have allowed institutional and own account investors to get operational and cost-efficient access to risk premia across traditional assets,” said Walter Cegarra, head of institutional solutions, financial products.

“In our drive to add value through innovation, we are happy to announce the launch of the first institutional QIS indices on digital assets in the market. This provides traditional investors with access to digital assets through the familiar QIS format, while giving crypto-native allocators access to the solutions offered by the QIS structure. The offering has been built from the outset to extend to other assets classes and other premia.”

The new QIS offering is also tailored for multiple asset classes, including digital assets, commodities, equities and multi-asset solutions.

Specifically, the solution is accessible via various implementation formats, such as tracker certificates, total return swaps and structured notes.

Marex has also confirmed that additional formats are currently in development stage.

Digital asset expansion has been a key focus for Marex recently, and earlier this month the firm launched an OTC rolling spot crypto product for institutional clients.

The cash-settled margin product allows clients to take long or short exposure to crypto markets without the custody, settlement and operational requirements of holding cryptocurrencies directly.
