Wombat Financial Software, a low-latency market data systems provider, yesterday announced that Jim Potter has accepted the role of director of US client services.

Potter brings 20 years of technical and managerial experience in the market data software industry, gained at Rich and Reuters, to Wombat.

“We are delighted to have Jim join our management team”, comments Danny Moore, COO, Wombat. “With such a pioneering background in the industry and a reputation for excellence on Wall Street, Jim will make sure clients can look forward to receiving next-generation market data products with the level of support they deserve,” he adds.

“Wombat’s vision for the future should make the next twenty years as exciting a ride as the last twenty,” says Potter.

Throughout his career implementing market data trading systems, Jim helped pioneer the adoption of video switches and as technology evolved, the first digital market data systems on Wall Street. He was also key in the introduction of each new generation of Reuters datafeeds and desktops. As Reuters acquired other market data system technologies, Potter was instrumental in the integration of technology and attracted talent for the firm’s technical department.
