NASDAQ promotes Jochumsen to deepen relationships in Europe

NASDAQ has promoted Hans-Olve Jochumsen to vice-chairman to work with the exchange’s European team.

NASDAQ has announced it has promoted Hans-Olve Jochumsen to vice chairman, shifting his responsibilities to deepening the exchange’s relationships across Europe.

Jochumsen was previously president at NASDAQ and responsible for its global trading and market services businesses, including transactions, clearing and settlement.

He initially joined NASDAQ following its merger with OMX in 2008, and has since played “an instrumental role in key projects”, including the acquisition of Nord Pool, launching First North – the Nordic venture exchange – and increasing trading activity in the Nordic region.

Jochumsen explained his new role will provide him with the “opportunity to continue to work closely with clients and regulators across all of Nasdaq’s businesses across Europe.”

The TRADE spoke with Jochumsen in September about NASDAQ’s growing data business and the impacts of MiFID II on traditional exchange functions.
