The Osaka Exchange (OSE) has said that it plans to introduce an expanded range of options contracts on the Nikkei Stock Average (Nikkei 225) to add to its other contracts.

The exchange said that the expansion is designed to give investors a greater range of hedging capabilities.

OSE has given an outline of new weekly options contracts. Weekly options will be arranged so that they expire on Fridays, where there are no expiring regular options.

The exchange said that it aims to launch the new contracts by the end of May 2015 and is now inviting public comments on the matter.
