CIBC Capital Markets
Bryan Blake has joined CIBC Capital Markets as managing director and head of global low touch execution after more than five years at Cboe Global Markets.
Toronto-based Blake brings more than two decades of electronic trading, exchanges and market structure experience to his new role at the Canadian bank.
Blake most recently served as vice president and head of Canadian equities at Cboe, where he supported the launch of Cboe BIDS Canada, to expand the firm’s institutional block trading offering.
Prior to this, Blake spent nearly five years at Canada’s largest equity alternative trading system (ATS), TriAct Canada Marketplace as chief executive officer, until the firm was acquired by Cboe in 2020.
He has also served as a vice president at Bank of America Merrill Lynch, where he spent almost six years managing institutional and hedge fund relationships across Canadian equities and helped to launch Canada’s quantitative trading platform.
Previously in his career, he has also held positions at TMX Group, Citi, Scotiabank and Manulife.
Eurex
Sarrah Chaker has joined Eurex’s London-based desk from Stifel. Her new role covers multi-asset sales.
Chaker is set to focus on fixed income and currencies (FIC) and OTC interest rate swaps products in her position, spanning the firm’s EMEA buy-side client base and helping to build out Eurex’s Middle East footprint.
She joins the European derivatives exchange from Stifel, where she spent less than a year as an equity sales trader.
Previously in her career, Chaker spent four years at Jefferies as a US equity sales trader, and prior to this, also served at Barclays Investment Bank as a European equity trader from 2016 to 2020.
While at Barclays, she traded European financials and UK mid-cap stocks, and worked across high touch orders and with the program trading and central risk desks.
She also gained early career experience at Natixis and BNP Paribas, both based out of Paris.
BBVA
BBVA has named Marwan Khouadja as a managing director, EUR swap trader, based out of Madrid.
Khouadja brings extensive EUR swap trading experience to his new role, having worked in positions at sell-side firms for more than 20 years.
He joins the Spanish bank from Santander where he spent almost 3 years in a similar position.
Prior to this, Khouadja held a 12-year tenure at HSBC in Paris, initially joining as a EUR swap trader in 2011, before stepping up as co-head of IRD trading for continental Europe almost 10 years later.
Previously in his career, he has also worked at firms including Standard Chartered, Banco Santander and ODDO BHF.
