RBC Brewin Dolphin names new head of dealing

Appointment is an internal promotion; individual joined the firm in 2019.

Robert Martin has been named head of UK dealing at RBC Brewin Dolphin, stepping up after almost seven years at the firm.

London-based Martin initially joined the buy-side firm in 2019 as a multi-asset dealer, before later working his way up the ranks to take on an associate director role in January 2025.

In 2024, Martin was shortlisted at The TRADE’s Leaders in Trading for the coveted Trader of the Year award, recognising exceptional trading efforts and performances on the buy-side.

Prior to his time at RBC Brewin Dolphin, Martin has worked in various equity trading-based roles, serving in a senior trader position at Valbury Capital for more than a year, where he assumed responsibility for all equity and fixed income trading conducted through the firm.

Previously in his career, he has also served at firms including Equiniti and Matrix Corporate Capital.

Martin confirmed his new role in an announcement on social media.
