Agency broker Sanford C. Bernstein has broadened its emerging markets equity execution offering to cover eight new countries.
Colombia, Peru, Egypt, Bahrain, Kuwait, Morocco, Dubai and Abu Dhabi can all be accessed via its global trading platform, with the firm now able to facilitate equity trading in a total of 47 markets from specialised regional trading desks located in New York, London and Hong Kong.
“Traders want brokers with the capabilities and expertise to enable trading in developed as well as emerging markets,” said Tom Wright, global head of trading at Sanford C. Bernstein. “Our new emerging market trade offering is a direct response to clients seeking a trusted partner to manage global equity execution.”
The agency broker has recently made a concerted push to grow and improve its execution services, and the latest move follows the launch of a cash desk and portfolio trading services in Asia earlier in the year. Sanford C. Bernstein now has almost 50 staff in the region, including six analysts based out of Hong Kong and Singapore.
It is expected the firm will officially launch algorithmic trading services in Asia early in the new year.
