Société Générale Corporate and Investment Banking has strengthened its equity trading capabilities with the creation of a new sales and sales trading team focused on the CEEMEA region.

The new team will be led by Richard Walker, who joins SocGen from NCB Stockbrokers and has also worked in the technology team at Dresdner Kleinwort. His responsibilities in his new role will include CEEMEA research to UK-based pan-European investors. Walker will report to Derek Hammond, UK head of institutional equity sales.

Along with the creation of this new unit, the UK cash equity sales team has also been reinforced with staff in order to better serve long-only and hedge fund clients, as well as UK and Dutch institutions.

Société Générale's cash equities business is part of its Global Equity Flow division, which provides investment advice across 65 markets and integrated execution services for equities, exchange-traded funds and flow derivatives.
