State Street has appointed one of JP Morgan’s top China custody experts as its new country head of global services China and general manager of its Beijing branch.
Lisa Lou joined the State Street at the end of February from JP Morgan where she was previously head of financial institutions and public-sector clients for China. She was also general manager for JP Morgan’s Beijing office.
Lou will be responsible for managing State Street’s global services business for China and leading the bank’s China strategy.
“She [Lou] will play a vital role helping to strengthen our local relationships with regulators and the financial industry in China, as we look to expand our servicing capabilities and grow our client base over the coming years,” said Richard Fogarty, head of global services, North Asia, State Street.
With more than 20 years of experience in the custody industry, Lou also held a number of senior management roles at Standard Chartered Bank China and HSBC Australia, covering various client segments and product lines.
State Street first set up its Beijing and Shanghai businesses in 2005 and 2008, providing offshore custody and administrative services for overseas assets of Chinese institutions.
