StreamBase Systems, a complex event processing (CEP) technology provider, has extended its software to connect to Alpha ATS, an alternative trading venue in Canada.

The link with SteamBase will allow firms to connect to Alpha ATS via its CEP platform adapters, and allow CEP-based applications, such as smart order routing, algorithmic trading and real-time market data analytics, to connect to Alpha ATS and other markets independently or simultaneously.

“Our move to provide connectivity to Alpha demonstrates StreamBase’s commitment to help our customers get to market quickly,” said Mark Palmer, CEO, StreamBase. “By providing a low-latency, high throughput offering, we have extended our platform so firms can not only get to market quickly, but can do so with the kind of capability that they expect from this CEP platform so that they may gain instant insight into the market.”

“The provision of a low-latency solution to the integration of our trading platform with our customers’ electronic trading systems is essential to ensure our success,” added Jos Schmitt, CEO, Alpha.

The Alpha trading platform was launched last November and is backed by the nine Canadian financial institutions in its parent company Alpha Group.
