TABB Group appoints former ITG executive Laurie Berke a senior consultant

TABB Group, a financial markets research and strategic advisory firm, announced on Tuesday that Laurie Berke has joined the company as a senior consultant in its New York office. The former ITG executive, who was also a senior vice president at Merrill Lynch, brings extensive experience in the equity and derivatives trading and IT product development areas to the firm.

Berke formally joins TABB Group having handled a number of consulting projects since early 2006. A director at ITG in the global execution services product management department for ten years, Berke was responsible for the desktop product QuantEX, the early development of the EMS Triton, ITG's first algorithmic servers, the launch of ITG Canada's trading systems and the firm's global portfolio trading system. She also led the product management team in the globalisation of ITG's trading suite.

Berke moved to ITG after five years at Merrill Lynch serving as a senior vice president responsible for the launch of the firm's portfolio trading and derivatives business. From 1985 to 1990, she led the equity sales and trading team for Kidder Peabody's portfolio trading and financial futures division. Berke began her career as an options sales trader at Paine Webber, where she later launched a stock index arbitrage trading desk.
