Osaka Securities Exchange forms alliance with Taiwan Stock Exchange

The Osaka Securities Exchange has signed a memorandum of agreement with the Taiwan Stock Exchange. The memorandum envisages the two exchanges developing their business together in the Asian markets, via exchanges of staff, investor relations seminars, and eventually a joint trading platform.

The Spanish equities, bond and derivatives exchanges group Bolsasy Mercados Espa?oles (BME) says its net profit in the fourth quarter of last year climbed 41.4% to € 38.38 million, up from € 27.14 million in the same period in 2005. This helped drive profits for the year up by more than a quarter, with earnings up appreciably in all areas bar fixed income trading.

Block Interest Discovery Service (BIDS Trading) announced yesterday that Bank of America, Bear Stearns, Credit Suisse, Deutsche Bank, JPMorgan and Knight Capital Group have invested in its recently formed alternative trading system (ATS), designed to increase competition and liquidity in the equity block trading market. SEC approval of NYSE-Euronext merger prompts final offer to Euronext shareholders

NYSE Euronext has launched a new exchange offer for all outstanding shares of Euronext, operator of the Paris, Amsterdam, Brussels and Lisbon bourses.   The move follows approval for a transatlantic merger granted by the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for New York Stock Exchange operator NYSE to join up with Euronext, which also operates the Euronext.liffe derivatives market.
