Data vendor Thomson Reuters has added real-time analysis of US company events to its machine-readable news offering.

Thomson Reuters NewsScope Company Events will provide clients with low-latency distribution of key data from US company press releases. The service will eventually be broadened to Canada and Europe.

The solution automatically extracts critical pieces of information from corporate announcements before converting them into a machine-readable format for clients. The information will be delivered in XML format via Thomson Reuters NewsScope Direct, the firm’s ultra-low-latency news distribution platform. Clients will also have the ability to access seven years of historical data, enabling them to back-test in their trading and investment strategies.

“Similar to our NewsScope Economic Events, the automated processes of NewsScope Company Events are focused on delivering the fastest source of key market moving data to our customers,” said Rich Brown, global business manager, machine readable news, Thomson Reuters, in a statement. “In addition to the timely data, we are committed to delivering the depth and breadth of content our customers need for successful event based trading strategies.”
