The TradeTech Europe conference, traditionally held in Paris, will move to London for 2010 – its 10th anniversary – in response to feedback from the buy-side, conference organiser Worldwide Business Research (WBR) has confirmed.

The event will take place in ExCel centre, close to London’s Canary Wharf financial district, from April 20-22.

“We have been asking the long-only buy-side firms and hedge funds what they want from TradeTech 2010 and they’ve told us they want the event to move to London,” said Hannah Reading, head of TradeTech marketing at WBR. “We’ve also spoken with many other key industry participants and the overwhelming majority share this view.”

Reading added that although the planning for next year’s event was well underway in Paris, the market feedback prompted a rethink. “We did this to maintain the core value of the event – which is to genuinely represent and mirror the needs of the industry in a balanced and neutral environment,” she said.
