Tradeweb rolls out AI-powered research assistant to support institutional credit trading

The new offering integrates Tradeweb’s historical and intraday data with analytics from its fixed income pricing engine; further asset class expansion is expected to follow.

Tradeweb has launched a new AI-powered research assistant, set to support institutional US credit traders in converting data into actionable market intelligence and trading insights.

Specifically, the Tradeweb AI Research Assistant (TARA) is directly embedded into Tradeweb’s institutional platform, providing users with capabilities including querying trading activity, market flows, execution performance, liquidity conditions and pricing intelligence.

The new offering leverages and integrates Tradeweb’s proprietary historical and intraday data with analytics from the firm’s fixed income-focused pricing engine, Tradeweb AI-Price.

Firms including T. Rowe Price have been early adopters of the offering as part of Tradeweb’s platform-embedded pilot program.

Commenting on this, Matthew Murphy, credit trader at T. Rowe Price, said: “As an early adopter, we see TARA as an important step forward in how market participants can interact with trading data more naturally, supporting faster decision-making, improved transparency, and a more effective response to evolving market conditions.”

In addition, TARA will also provide tailored insights to support each clients’ individual trading activity, alongside broader market trends, according to the firm.

TARA’s initial offering targets US credit trading workflows, and further expansion is set to cover clients trading global credit and government bonds later on this year.

In addition, developments are expected to span scheduled prompts and automated reporting, API connectivity, and a phased expansion beyond credit into further asset classes and rates products.

Izzy Conlin, head of strategy and solutions for global markets at Tradeweb, said: “As markets become increasingly electronic and data-driven, the challenge for traders is no longer access to information, but the ability to efficiently extract actionable insights from massive and growing datasets.

“[…] By integrating Tradeweb’s proprietary data, analytics, and advanced AI capabilities, we are enabling clients to surface insights more quickly, streamline decision-making, and operate with greater efficiency in fast-moving markets.”
