MarketAxess, which operates a trading platform for US and European corporate bonds, derivatives and other fixed-income securities, plans to expand its credit trading offering to include institutional investors based in the Asia-Pacific region.

CEO T. Kelly Millet stated that the firm would leverage the experienced it has gained from dealing with the buy-side in Europe and the US to expand its presence in Asia.

“Our trading system can connect Asian institutional investors, including central banks, sovereign wealth funds, pension funds and asset and wealth managers, to our global network of broker-dealers,” added Millet.

MarketAxess' trading technology allows institutional investor clients to request competitive, executable bids or offers from multiple broker-dealers simultaneously, and to execute trades with the broker-dealer of their choice. The firm is a recognised market operator in Singapore and an authorised automated trading service in Hong Kong.
