TradingScreen integrates EMS with IHS Markit’s thinkFolio platform

TradingScreen and IHS Markit are looking to reduce costs and provide scalability for their mutual client base with a certified integration.

TradingScreen and IHS Markit have teamed up to integrate their technology platforms in a bid to reduce costs and provide scalability for clients.

The partnership has seen TradingScreen combine its multi-asset execution management system (EMS) with IHS Markit’s thinkFolio investment management platform, which acts as a portfolio modelling and order management system.

Both firms said that the certified integration ensures that mutual clients gain access to a standardised and certified interface between the two systems, while thinkFolio users benefit from access to TradingScreen’s EMS which can be adopted as a SaaS platform.

“We are excited to announce our certified integration with IHS Markit’s thinkFolio,” said Varghese Thomas, chief operating officer at TradingScreen. “This development will allow thinkFolio clients to leverage the powerful workflow benefits of our EMS platform, FIX connectivity to trading venues for execution across asset classes as well as TS’s expertise as a trusted trading and technology partner.”

IHS Markit expanded its thinkFolio platform with managed FIX connectivity for the buy-side in November. By managing the FIX connectivity on behalf of clients, IHS Markit said it can reduce costs and help firms navigate the technical complexity of self-administering a FIX network.

“Collaborating with premium partners, such as TradingScreen, is a key part of our strategy to extend thinkFolio and deliver a highly scalable, comprehensive and flexible investment management platform for our clients,” Keith Viverito, managing director for thinkFolio at IHS Markit, commented. “The partnership with TradingScreen has enabled us to extend our execution capabilities and will give our clients greater flexibility and choice.”
