Trumid integrates new AI capability into its fixed income platform

Through the Trumid Smart Voice offering, users will be able to move quickly from conversation to execution, with less manual effort and lower risk of human error,” Trumid chief product officer and global head of sales tells The TRADE.

Fixed income electronic trading platform Trumid has integrated a new AI-powered capability into its solution, as part of an effort to enhance efficiency for credit trading desks and workflows.

The new offering – Trumid Smart Voice – is built natively into the Trumid platform, and will automatically extract key details from unstructured conversations, allowing users to convert these dialogues into pre-filled trade tickets, to support accurate booking and processing.

Specifically, unstructured conversation refers to activity such as voice or chat, which then has to be manually interpreted, and re-keyed into a system, often creating fragmented workflows.

Particular details of the new capability include extracting relevant details such as trader name, bond, size and direction, as well as copying and pasting conversations into the tool, to pre-fill a trade ticket for a user to confirm prior to submission.

Speaking to The TRADE, Jason Quinn, chief product officer and global head of sales at Trumid, said: “The functionality was built to take a lot of the work out of capturing and interpreting trade details from live interactions. This frees teams to focus on higher-value decisions and activities, rather than repetitive manual tasks. “

Maintaining human oversight

As part of the offering, Trumid has ensured that human oversight is still integrated with the automation, and aims to eliminate manual re-entry and error risk, as well as accelerating execution time and streamlining trade booking by ensuring every trade is reviewed and confirmed before submission.

Additionally, the new capability is expected to support sell-side traders and sales, as well as buy-side clients making use of Trumid’s platform.

The firm has also introduced a similar functionality specifically designed for swap trades alongside Trumid Smart Voice’s launch, called Trumid Smart Swap.

Highlighting Trumid’s future plans for deeper AI integration across its platform, Quinn added: “This is really part of a much broader evolution for Trumid. From here, you’ll see us continue to build on that. That includes expanding the functionality into areas like swap trades, where we can apply the same conversation-to-execution approach.

“More broadly, AI is increasingly becoming part of our operating model. It’s not something we are experimenting with on the side. It’s shaping how we build, ship, and evolve the platform.”
