Former L&G global trading head joins Liquidnet

Stephen Grady is currently head of market structure and strategy at Ipreo.

Legal & General’s former global head of trading has joined Liquidnet as a non-executive director in Europe.

Stephen Grady, who is currently the head of market structure and strategy at FinTech firm Ipreo, has over 20 years of trading experience.

He joined Ipreo after departing Legal & General in March this year, having been with the investment management business since 2012.

Grady was also global head of dealing at Barclays Wealth, overseeing the buy-side trading team for the active asset management division.

Mark Pumfrey, head of Liquidnet EMEA, explained Grady will provide strategic counselling to Liquidnet as it continues to expand across the region.

Grady added he will further contribute to Liquidnet’s “success in innovating and improving liquidity” for its clients.

Liquidnet recently confirmed it will acquire OTAS Technologies, an artificial intelligence powered buy-side decision support and analytics provider.

OTAS’ analytics tool will be integrated with Liquidnet’s Virtual High Touch trading platform  - which launched in November last year - to improve decision making for the buy-side.
