Liquidnet taps BAML and Natixis to bolster EQS team

Liquidnet appoints new head of execution consulting amid expansion of its EQS team.

Liquidnet has expanded its execution and quantitative services (EQS) team with two senior hires.

Gareth Exton – previously head of transaction cost analysis (TCA) in Europe at Bank of America Merrill Lynch – is to head up execution consulting at Liquidnet, focusing on its TCA in equities and fixed income.

Mickey Senic – previously an institutional sales trader at Natixis – also joins the team as an execution sales trader across high touch, programme and algorithmic trading.

Both will report to Liquidnet’s head of EQS, Chris Jackson.

Jackson said the hires are to help the firm meet its members needs for high touch services, “to help them navigate a complex trading landscape.”

He added: “Both Gareth and Mickey have unique skill sets that will help us deliver this.”

Liquidnet’s EQS works with its member community, which now consists of 830 global asset managers.

Its EQS business has seen a 251% year-on-year growth as of the second quarter this year, Liquidnet said.
