Citi global head of research to lead equities at Rothschild & Co

New hire will spearhead the firm’s global equities business, including sales and trading.

Rothschild & Co has named Lucy Baldwin as global head of equities, to support the firm’s build-out of its institutional equities franchise.

Baldwin will assume responsibility for Rothschild & Co’s global equities business in her new position, where she will focus on sales and trading, as well as research and corporate access.

Her appointment is also set to bolster the expansion of the firm’s global markets solutions (GMS) platform, as well as strengthen connectivity between advisory, capital markets and institutional investor franchises.

Commenting on her new role, Baldwin said: “Rothschild & Co has built a highly regarded equities platform with a distinctive culture, highly respected research capabilities and a clear strategic vision.

“I’m very much looking forward to working with colleagues across the business to build on these strong foundations, further strengthen connectivity between the firm’s institutional investor, advisory and capital markets activities, and continue developing the firm’s institutional equities capabilities globally.”

Baldwin joins the firm from Citi, where she spent five years as global head of research, based in London.

Prior to this, she also held senior positions at Credit Suisse and Bank of America Merrill Lynch, serving as global head of equity sales, and head of European equity sales respectively.

In addition, she also co-headed European equity research at Goldman Sachs for nine years, and began her industry career as an equity research analyst at Cazenove in 2004.

“[Baldwin] is a highly respected markets leader with deep experience across equities, investor engagement and global platform,” added Robert Leitão, managing partner at Rothschild & Co.

“Her appointment reflects our continued investment in building a world class equities capability and supporting our clients with the highest-quality insights, access and execution globally.”

Baldwin’ appointment is the latest in a string of hires for Rothschild & Co in recent months.

In February 2026, the firm appointed former HSBC global co-head of cross asset electronic sales, Joelle Tarrant, as head of market structure and strategy, as revealed by The TRADE at the time

Earlier that month, Luke Hedley also joined Rothschild & Co in an equity sales trading position.

London-based Hedley joined the firm from Investec, where he had served in a similar position for more than four years.
