Kepler Cheuvreux makes a string of new appointments

The new hires come across the firm's economics, cross-asset strategy and institutional research teams, including several long-serving employee promotions.

Kepler Cheuvreux has bolstered its economics and cross-asset strategy and institutional research teams with a range of new appointments including various new team heads.

Arnaud Girod has been appointed as head of economics and cross-asset strategy, replacing Christopher Potts. Girod has been promoted to the role after serving as co-head of institutional research at the firm for the last eight years.

He originally joined Kepler in 2008 as an equity salesperson and has since held a variety of senior positions. Prior to joining Kepler, Girod held equity sales positions at both Natixis and Exane BNP Paribas.

Alongside Girod, Philippe Ferreira has been appointed as deputy head of economics and cross-asset strategy and will work closely Girod.

Ferreira brings a wealth of experience to the role, having worked as an economist and cross-asset strategist over the past 20 years. Prior to joining Kepler, Ferreira spent over 15 years at Société Générale in a variety of positions, both in sell-side and buy-side research. He began his career as an economist in the early 200s, serving in a range of international organisations.

Meanwhile, Natalia Bobo has been appointed as co-head of institutional research, bringing over 25 years’ experience as a sell-side analyst to the firm. She has spent 14 years at Kepler, focusing on healthcare, retail, IT, media and energy stocks.

In 2017, she joined TREA Asset Management as head of equity research and a member of the firm’s ESG team. She returned Kepler in 2021 as part of the content management team, serving as deputy head of institutional research.

Elsewhere, Marco Baccagilo has been appointed as co-head of institutional research and head of primary research.

Baccagilo is a long-serving employee of Kepler, having originally joined in 1993 as a trader, then as an equity analyst in the industrial and media sectors. He later became deputy head of research covering the telecom sector and was eventually appointed as European coordinator for the sector in 2002. In addition, Baccagilo served as head of Italian equity research between 2004-2013 and has been head of primary research since 2021.

“I’m thrilled to be given the opportunity to work even more closely with such a great team, reinforced by the arrival of Philippe Ferreira who will extend our range of expertise,” said Girod.

“We look forward to supporting our clients during this complex market phase.”
