Quote MTF, a newly-launched pan-European multilateral trading facility, has joined connectivity provider Atrium Network’s extranet community.

As a result, clients can now access Quote MTF via Atrium’s Exchange Ring, a fibre-optic network providing a low-latency single point of connectivity to trading venues in Europe.

According to Atrium, using the Exchange Ring to access liquidity sources eliminates the need for firms to co-locate their trading engines at each venue’s data centre, thereby cutting costs.

“Achieving the lowest possible latency is a key priority and we believe Atrium Network’s innovative approach will help participants to reach this goal,” said Oliver Klopsch, head of sales and marketing at Quote MTF, in a statement.

Emmanuel Pellé, director of sales and marketing at Atrium Network, added, “We are continually expanding to offer connectivity to new MTFs as they launch. In times of economic uncertainty and market volatility, the pressure to minimise risk and capitalise on the trading opportunities presented by these new MTFs is greater than ever and we believe that our Exchange Ring offers opportunities to help firms mitigate the necessary investment required to co-locate with every venue.”

Quote MTF launched on 4 September, trading 10 stocks listed on NYSE Euronext Paris. It has subsequently added 20 additional NYSE Euronext-listed stocks and is in the process of including 11 Nasdaq OMX and five Oslo Børs securities. The platform will eventually trade stocks and exchange-traded funds from 14 European countries and will complete its stock roll-out on 16 October.
