New York-based brokerage firm Auerbach Grayson has partnered with London-based independent institutional stockbroker and investment bank Panmure Gordon, providing Auerbach Grayson with more access to UK-based companies.

Under the deal, Auerbach Grayson aims to provide its US institutional clients with more local intelligence and increased investing opportunities in the UK. The partnership will also allow Panmure Gordon to expand its institutional equity business by servicing Auerbach Grayson’s clients, which include 500 global institutional investors comprising 2,500 international portfolio managers and analysts.

Auerbach Grayson offers global research, trade execution and settlement services in equities, derivatives and fixed-income instruments. The firm provides US institutions with access to nearly 130 countries through partnerships with the main domestic brokers and banks in each market.

Established in 1876, Panmure Gordon is one of London’s most recognised independent brokers and has offices in the UK, US and Europe.

“Auerbach Grayson’s extensive network of US investor contacts will benefit from our high quality research on a wide range of UK-listed companies,” said Tim Linacre, Panmure Gordon chief executive.

In August, Auerbach Grayson launched a global fixed income and sales trading platform for frontier and emerging markets, appointing Tim Slaughter to lead the initiative. The firm also recently expanded its Turkish presence, through a partnership with Turkish investment bank IS Investment in July 2011.
