BNP Paribas appoints ex-E*TRADE vice president to senior position within global execution services business

BNP Paribas has announced the appointment of Brooks Addington - who has worked at E*TRADE for 10 years, most recently holding the position of vice president, Tokyo branch manager, E*TRADE Securities Japan - to its global execution services (GES) business in Asia.

BNP Paribas has announced the appointment of Brooks Addington – who has worked at E*TRADE for 10 years, most recently holding the position of vice president, Tokyo branch manager, E*TRADE Securities Japan – to its global execution services (GES) business in Asia.

Brooks Addington joins as the head of BNP Paribas' Japanese equities division, based in Tokyo. He will focus on the enhancement and expansion of BNP Paribas' Japan cash equity offering and the coverage of Japanese institutional investors. Addington reports to Pierre Rousseau, global head of equity brokerage, and Stephane Ritz, head of equities and derivatives, Japan.

Gerry Pablo, who has been with BNP Paribas since 2006 as a senior sales trader based in Hong Kong, has also been promoted to a senior position within BNP Paribas' GES business. Pablo becomes head of sales, GES, Asia & Japan.

Pablo will develop sales activity and revenues across all of the GES product lines, with a focus on selling execution services to hedge funds and to the traditional cash equity Asia client base. He will report to Miles Remington, head of execution and sales trading, and to Matthew Carr, co-head, GES.

Commenting on these moves, Carr says, "The GES business has seen significant growth over the last couple of years. These appointments will help us to reinforce and maintain our leading position in Japan and Asia. We will be announcing further senior appointments in Europe shortly."
