Bank of New York-owned agency brokerage BNY ConvergEx Group has formed an alliance with research management software house Tamale Software to help fund managers access Jaywalk’s independent research reports through Tamale’s Research Management Solution (RMS).

Jaywalk is the independent research consultancy of BNY ConvergEx Group, offering one of the largest networks of independent research providers (IRPs).

The alliance between the two organizations will focus on the integration and delivery of Jaywalk’s Consensus ratings and one-page summary reports directly to investment professionals through Tamale’s RMS product.

The Jaywalk Consensus aims to provide clients with a unique snapshot of overall opinion on a given stock representing a diverse cross-section of independent analysts. BNY Convergex claims it is the only metric of its kind that aggregates opinions across the varying research methodologies of unbiased sources to create a more balanced overall opinion.

The Jaywalk consensus serves as an effective catalyst to direct clients to stocks that warrant attention in a portfolio, either positive or negative, says BNY Convergex. The one-page report contains additional information including the breakdown of independent ratings, stock price history, industry/sector/overall Jaywalk ranking, peer comparison and other key statistics.

Tamale RMS provides tools to help fund managers manage their research efforts by helping them filter their research and centralize external and internal research according to their workflow.

Tamale has over 65 clients and 1,000 investment professionals actively using the product, including hedge funds, traditional asset managers, private equity funds and fund of funds.

“Many of our clients have asked us to integrate independent research reports into our Tamale platform,” says Tamale CEO Mark Rice. “We are delighted to be aligning ourselves with BNY ConvergEx Group, recognized as the industry’s largest source of independent research, to provide easier access to information that supports the investment decision-making process for our clients.”

John D. Meserve, Director of BNY ConvergEx Group, says the partnership with Tamale will “enhance the value we provide our clients throughout their investment decision-making process.”
