Investment bank Daiwa Capital Markets has hired Philip Brewer as executive director of its fixed income division based in London.
Brewer joins Daiwa from e-trading platform MarketAxess, where he was head of European relations and part of the European management team.
At Daiwa, he will be responsible for coordinating Daiwa’s fixed income e-commerce operations across e-trading platforms.
Prior to joining MarketAxess in 2004, Brewer spent 20 years in credit trading, working in senior positions at West LB, Deutsche Bank, JP Morgan and Merrill Lynch.
At Daiwa Capital Markets, he will report to Phil Deans, managing director and head of fixed income sales for the bank’s European business.
