Institutional broker-dealer BTIG has expanded its sales and trading teams with the hire of four new staff to its London office.

BTIG's latest recruits will join the team of 30 led by the firm's CEO Gary Hayes.

Andrew Rosen and Julie Beecher both join BTIG as emerging markets sales traders. Rosen's previous role was at State Street Global Markets, where he helped build the firm's sales trading operation and worked with institutions and hedge funds in London. He has also worked on the floor of the London Stock Exchange and spent nine years at Lehman Brothers.

Prior to moving to BTIG, Beecher was a founding partner of London-based brokerage Execution Noble and was part of the pan-European equities trading team, before building the firm's emerging markets franchise.

Adam Bergenfield joins BTIG as an equity-linked sales trader having previously worked for US buy-side firm Penso Capital Markets, where he was an analyst and trader for its Global Macro Fund. Bergenfield also spent several years at Kellogg Specialist Group, where he ran a proprietary trading strategy and assisted in the development of equity market-making algorithms for NYSE floor traders.

David Abraham, formerly of FBR Capital Markets, takes up the role of event-driven analyst at BTIG. Abraham, who has 16 years of buy- and sell-side experience has also worked as an event-driven portfolio manager and partner at multi-strategy hedge fund Merebis Capital and has held roles at Goldman Sachs and NatWest Securities.

“The addition of David, Andrew, Julie and Adam to our team closely follows the launch of our new fixed income emerging markets team in London, and demonstrates the proactive steps BTIG is taking to ensure that we can meet the needs of our growing number of Europe-based clients,” Hayes added.
