BTIG promotes former Goldman Sachs veteran to CEO in London

Christopher Rollins joined BTIG last year but previously spent more than 15 years with Goldman Sachs.

Broker-dealer BITG has promoted its head of US execution services and former Goldman Sachs veteran to chief executive of its European business.

Christopher Rollins first joined BTIG in October last year to head up execution services in the US, and as a managing director for international equities.

Prior to this, he spent more than 15 years with Goldman Sachs in several senior roles, including co-head of European execution services in London.

Rollins also spent 10 years in the bank’s New York office where he was a managing director in institutional equities, focused on executing cash equities and derivatives.

As chief executive in London for BTIG, Rollins will be responsible for expanding the broker’s multi-asset products and growing the firm’s geographical footprint in Europe.

“Since joining the firm, [Rollins] has demonstrated that he is a very strong leader. He understands how we can be impactful and translates a vision into tangible results for clients,” said Scott Kovalik, co-founder and chief executive officer of BTIG.

“His deep relationships throughout Europe and the US will help further cement our position as a key partner for institutions looking for high-touch service.”

BITG’s European-based equity sales and trading is currently headquartered in London, although the broker also has offices in Edinburgh and Stockholm.

“We are confident that Chris will help successfully steer the direction of the firm in its next chapter of growth,” added Steven Starker, co-founder of BTIG. “He has exhibited a keen understanding of where we see opportunities to strengthen our relationships with clients. Chris is the ideal fit to drive business growth and position the firm for the future.”
