Bursa Malaysia has migrated its derivatives products onto CME Globex, the electronic trading platform operated by CME Group, enabling global traders to access Malaysian derivatives products electronically.
According to Bursa Malaysia, the agreement will help create broader exposure for its derivative products. Access to the instruments for foreign traders will be provided via nine international telecommunications hubs, one of which is located in Kuala Lumpur.
Bursa Malaysia Derivatives, which is a subsidiary of Bursa Malayisa, will continue to operate and regulate its derivatives market as well as retaining control over trading hours, products and its specifications, spread definitions and pricing, within the parameters supported by CME Globex.
All Bursa Malaysia derivatives contracts traded on the CME Globex electronic trading platform will continue to be cleared by Bursa Malaysia Derivatives Clearing Berhad, a subsidiary of Bursa Malaysia Derivatives.
